Tickler at large | Jan 08, 2009
Sohan was a young boy. It was his first time flying a kite, so his father helped him – and after several attempts the kite was in the air. Sohan ran and let out more string, and soon the kite was flying high. He was so excited; the kite was beautiful. Eventually there was no more string left to allow the kite to go higher.
Sohan said to his father,”Daddy, let’s cut the string and let the kite go; I want to see it go higher and higher.”
His father said, “Son, the kite won’t go higher if we cut the string.”
“Yes, it will,” responded Sohan. “The string is holding the kite down; I can feel it.”
The father handed a pocketknife to his son. Sohan cut the string. In a matter of seconds the kite was out of control. It darted here and there and finally landed in a broken heap. That was difficult for the boy to understand. He felt certain the string was holding the kite down.

Don’t ever let go of the steering wheel.
Its like trees…they remain firm till they are standing on their roots firmly holding the ground….but once the roots are pulled out of ground it dies…..howevere higher you wish to go…dont uproot yourself
Nicely put, Anjali.
Even for a kite to fly high requires a consistent control. Our life too, just like the kite, goes haywire once we lose control over it. No matter how high or how poised it be, it requires constraint; else it is shaved off.
never spare the rod…no matter how harsh the constrains may seem, they provide us with the firm foundation of truth, dignity, honor, discipline and self respect…..resulting in a being that can stand against the worst of storms which life has to offer…
